JAMCO participates in Technology Center Nordenham/Wesermarsch in Germany
|
April 2010
The
Aircraft Components Group of JAMCO Corporation is very proud to announce its
participation in Technology Center (Zukunftszentrum Technologie
Nordenham/Wesermarsch) which is under construction close to Premium AEROTEC
GmbH in Nordenham, to launch collaborative research of manufacturing
technologies for advanced composite, CFRP(carbon fiber reinforced
plastics).
Affiliated with EADS(European Aeronautic Defence and Space
Company), Premium AEROTEC GmbH brings
competencies in the field of engineering and
manufacturing systems for aircraft structural components and
supplies them to aircraft manufacturers including Airbus.
Technology
Center is expected to open in May 2011, aiming at the development of efficient
CFRP manufacturing technologies not only limited for aircraft structures but
also for other fields.
One
of the projects includes manufacturing of fuselage shell components. To support
this project, private companies from Germany, Austria and JAMCO from Japan and
Fraunhofer Institute, German public research institutions, will be teaming up
and will engage in the partnership of research and the development of fuselage
structures including Airbus’ next generation aircraft.
JAMCO’s
Aircraft Components Group is the sole supplier of carbon composite components
for stringers and stiffeners for vertical tail planes of all Airbus aircraft as
well as for upper deck floor cross beams of A380 aircraft. Our carbon composite
components are produced through our developed technology called ‘ADP’(Advanced
Pultrusion), and we have successfully achieved a further advanced technology
based on our current ADP process for the manufacturing of the profiles with
three dimensional and/or stepped thickness after many years of research and
experimentations. Since we have been able to overcome this previously thought
to be extremely difficult area, JAMCO believes the timing is right to send its
R&D team to Technology Center to adjust the technology to new aircraft
programs and to aim at the commercialization of newly developed technology.
JAMCO R&D team will be assigned as a leader of fuselage components
development group and will dedicate its efforts towards the development
of next generation technology of carbon composite structural components
