The JAMCO Group is working on the development of products to make aircraft cabins clean and sanitary to help alleviate passengers’ anxiety when flying on aircraft. Following the project getting underway, we introduce Volume Two of project-related initiatives.
All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA) and JAMCO are working together to develop the world’s first lavatory that can be exited hands-free, allowing passengers to use lavatories with peace of mind.
The two companies are moving ahead with development in coordination with ANA Care Promise initiatives, and the designs of the hands free aircraft lavatory door lock knob and handle introduced below were conceived of as a result of repeated verification tests carried out by both companies.

Gives passengers an alternative to locking and
unlocking lavatory doors with their fingers by
allowing them to use their elbows instead.

Passengers can raise and lower toilet seats and lids sat on by others without having to touch them directly.
Tabs make it visually apparent where to touch, providing passengers with psychological peace of mind.
