August 5, 2025, Tokyo – Jamco Corporation, Japan’s leading manufacturer of cabin interior equipment for the commercial aviation industry, today announced the appointment of new senior executives, including Executive Chair Kate Schaefer and Chief Executive Officer Masaru Morimoto, effective 1st August 2025. The appointments mark a new chapter for Jamco following its acquisition by Bain Capital and its delisting from the Tokyo Stock Exchange earlier this year.

In this new chapter, Jamco’s vision is to create a global platform of innovative products that provide a differentiated passenger experience in the widebody cabin. With decades of experience and industry-leading technical capabilities in engineering and design, Jamco will continue to partner with OEMs and airline customers to bring the cabin of the future to life.

Specific growth initiatives include expanding engineering and manufacturing capacity for widebody galley and lavatory production, deepening Jamco’s presence in the aftermarket, including cabin retrofits, as well as re-launching the business class seat franchise, focusing on the Venture seat as a readily available solution to help alleviate lead times and supply shortages in this sector. With the support of Bain Capital and new leadership, Jamco also plans to selectively expand the product portfolio through acquisitions and partnerships.

The new team is led by Executive Chair Kate Schaefer, who is currently a Senior Advisor to Bain Capital and has over three decades of leadership experience in commercial aerospace, most recently as a Senior Vice President at Boeing Global Services along with international senior executive roles at Moog, HEICO Aerospace and AAR.

Chief Executive Masaru Morimoto formerly served as CEO of Showa Aircraft Industrial, a Bain Capital portfolio company and Jamco shareholder. Prior to that, Morimoto was the CEO of Delta Airlines Japan.

Sanjeev Sen will join as Chief Operating Officer and collaborate with functional leaders across HR and IT to strengthen JAMCO’s global capabilities.

Koichi Tsunematsu, who will continue leading Jamco’s transformation as Executive Vice President, said, “Over the past few years, Jamco has implemented management reforms to persevere through the pandemic as well as post-pandemic supply chain disruption facing the aerospace industry globally. With the support of our new partners at Bain Capital, we can move Jamco from defense to offense and become the industry’s leader in the production of high-quality cabin interiors.”

Masaru Morimoto, CEO of Jamco, stated “Under President Tsunematsu’s leadership in recent years, Jamco has made significant strides in profitability and operational efficiency to create the foundation for future growth. Together with the new leadership team, Aircraft Interiors Group, Aircraft Maintenance & Manufacturing Group, Corporate Group, as well as group companies such as JAMCO AMERICA and JAMCO Aircraft Interiors united as one, we will continue this transformation journey while pursuing bold new growth opportunities to unlock Jamco’s full potential.”

Kate Schaefer, Executive Chair of Jamco stated, “We see great potential to transform Jamco into a platform through future acquisitions in widebody cabin interiors. By expanding the product portfolio, we can create deeper relationships with airline customers while accelerating new product innovation and re-imagining the passenger experience of long-haul travel.”
