The aircraft seat industry today

The global aircraft seat market is dominated by two major players. Companies operating in this business fields have faced nearly insurmountable hurdles compared with other business fields when trying to enter this market. JAMCO had previously made internal preparations for launching an aircraft seat business, but found fewer and fewer opportunities to enter the market.

At present, two companies—France-based Zodiac Aerospace and US-based B/E Aerospace—hold about 70% of the market for aircraft seat products. These companies are also JAMCO’s competitors for aircraft galleys  and lavatories. As this market grew increasingly, airlines and aircraft manufacturers have become frustrated by the problems that have resulted, failure to be fulfilled as hoped about their request and delivery.

High-quality and dependable deliveries are essential for gaining a share of a new market

Requests from airlines and aircraft manufacturers are focused on improving services for satisfying passengers. With respect to aircraft seats, technical merits and innovative designs are vital for responding to such requests. It is also especially important for suppliers to eliminate any problems involving quality and deliveries, and to offer new value that goes beyond expectations and is differentiated from other suppliers.

In comparison to other suppliers in the industry, JAMCO may appear as a minor player strictly in terms of its business scale, but it has earned a strong reputation for ensuring dependable deliveries of high-quality galley units and lavatories, its mainstay products. That gives the company a competitive edge in the aircraft seat market, as well. Looking ahead, JAMCO is striving to gain a larger share of this market by leveraging its ability to integrate all types of aircraft interior components to develop products that offer more comfort and greater flexibility for interior design.
