JAMCO has earned customers’ trust with the unwavering quality of products made over many years, and is now reaching a new level of excellence.

JAMCO’s products are renowned for their safety and quality in the international aircraft industry. In 2016, JAMCO received an Airbus Supplier Support Rating award from Airbus S.A.S., and was chosen from among 12 winners of the Boeing Supplier of the Year award for the Leaders’ Choice Alliance Award by The Boeing Company, in recognition of its achievements in managing on time deliveries of quality products.
In Japan, people generally expect corporations to do everything possible to guarantee product quality and deliver on time. Indeed, Japanese quality is very highly regarded in the international aircraft industry worldwide, even though there are relatively few Japanese companies in the industry. As a company that represents Japanese quality and has established a solid reputation for its own brand of quality, JAMCO is leveraging its track record to take its evolution even further with an eye on the future.

New product development

ICE Rear Galley

On May 20, 2015, JAMCO concluded an agreement with Airbus S.A.S. to develop, manufacture, supply, and support a new galley and lavatory module option for the Airbus A350 XWB, a new state-of-the-art aircraft model. With the agreement, JAMCO has been recognized as a Tier One1 supplier of aircraft interior products and as a risk-sharing partner2 to Airbus. The new module option is called ICE Rear Galley (the acronym ICE stands for “increased cabin efficiency”), and has been designed to realize the Airbus concept of packaging a selection of components complementary. The design allows up to six extra seats on the aircraft while maintaining the same level of comfort without changing seat pitch.

(Notes)

1. A Tier One supplier is a company that directly supplies the products it develops and manufactures to an aircraft manufacturer as a primary contractor.

2. A risk-sharing partner is a company that takes partial responsibility for development cost and risk management as a joint developer, which is commonly needed due to the enormous development cost required in the design and manufacture of aircraft.

Going above and beyond quality and dependable deliveries

While JAMCO has established a partnership with The Boeing Company as a supplier of aircraft interior products over many years, it recently concluded a supplier-furnished equipment (SFE) contract with Airbus S.A.S. to supply a galley and lavatory module option for the first time in its history. JAMCO has built a relationship of trust with Airbus over the past 20 years, mainly through its supply of floor beams and Advanced Pultrusion products, and has earned an excellent reputation for quality and expertise through its supply of galleys under buyer-furnished equipment (BFE) contracts. In fact, JAMCO’s strong track record of ensuring quality and a dependable supply, along with the trust it has built up as a result have become major competitive advantages for the company. This new contract was largely the outcome of countless initiatives made by employees over many years, and the teamwork they demonstrated in the project with Airbus. Looking ahead, everyone at JAMCO is confident in the company’s ability to make further progress on the momentum of this success, and is committed to maintaining its reputation for ensuring a stable supply of high-quality products going forward.
